Lines naming a toll plaza are the published price of a plaza the route actually drives through. Lines reading "tolled road" have their distance measured from the route but charge a national average rate; lines reading "motorway (assumed)" assume the distance too, because plaza-level data does not exist yet for that country. Bridge, tunnel, vignette and published transit prices are actual prices.

What we do not know

Every toll on this route comes from a published tariff. No line rests on an assumption.

About this route

From Germany's densest Turkish community to the Mediterranean, with the longest Turkish leg of any route here. It crosses Austria on the A9 Pyhrn rather than through Salzburg, so the Gleinalm and Bosruck tunnels are added to the vignette instead of the Tauern. Slovenia is only sixty-five kilometres of it and still sells nothing shorter than a seven-day vignette. It enters Croatia at Macelj in the north rather than at Bregana, and the crossing is two companies' motorways: AZM to Zagreb, HAC from Zagreb to the Serbian border, and the free Zagreb bypass between them. In Turkey the route crosses İstanbul by the North Marmara Motorway and the Osmangazi bridge, leaves the motorway after Bursa and reaches Antalya on free main roads through Bozüyük, Afyon and Burdur. More than two thirds of what Turkey charges comes from the Yavuz Sultan Selim and Osmangazi bridge crossings.

What this figure leaves out

Accommodation, food, waiting at borders, tyres and wear, green card insurance, parking. Only fuel and the charges on the road itself are counted.
