Lines naming a toll plaza are the published price of a plaza the route actually drives through. Lines reading "tolled road" have their distance measured from the route but charge a national average rate; lines reading "motorway (assumed)" assume the distance too, because plaza-level data does not exist yet for that country. Bridge, tunnel, vignette and published transit prices are actual prices.

About this route

The only route that does not start in İstanbul, and that single difference rewrites the Turkish half of the sum. A journey out of Ankara uses the Anatolian Motorway (O-4) end to end, and that road's gate pairs have been read off the KGM tariff — so most of the Turkish line here is a published fare rather than an estimate. The Bosphorus has to be crossed as well, and which structure the route uses moves the figure noticeably. Past Kapıkule it is the Berlin route exactly; the difference is entirely in the first eight hundred kilometres.

What this figure leaves out

Accommodation, food, waiting at borders, tyres and wear, green card insurance, parking. Only fuel and the charges on the road itself are counted.
